Genevieve Beaulieu

Bassoon

Genevieve Beaulieu lives in Chicago, IL, and is the second bassoonist with Traverse Symphony Orchestra. In addition to playing with the TSO, Genevieve is principal bassoonist with the Midland Symphony Orchestra and works at the DePaul University School of Music.  Genevieve also performs frequently with the Grand Rapids, West Michigan, Holland, and Kalamazoo symphonies.  In 2019, she was soloist with the Holland Symphony Orchestra, performing Weber’s Andante and Hungarian Rondo.

Genevieve attended Ohio State University for her undergraduate degree, where she studied with Karrie Pierson, and graduated from Michigan State University with both her Master’s of Music and Doctorate of Musical Arts, where she studied with Michael Kroth.  She has taught at the Michigan State University Community Music School and Hope College, in addition to private studios in both Lansing and Holland, MI.  Her students have participated in All-State bands, as well as the Grand Rapids and Holland Area Youth Orchestras.

In her free time from work and reed-making, Genevieve enjoys exploring her new home city of Chicago with her husband, Adam, and their dog, Winnie.
