Guy Leslie, percussion, attended Wayne State University in Detroit and studied with Salvatore Rabbio of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. After attending the Armed Forces School of Music, Mr. Leslie earned a spot as a percussionist with the United States Navy Band in Washington, D.C., retiring in 1998 after 26 years of service. While in the band, he toured extensively throughout the U.S., Sweden and Russia as well as performing for official functions at The White House, Pentagon, The Capitol, and the National Monuments on the Mall in DC.
Since moving to Traverse City, Mr. Leslie plays with the Traverse Symphony Orchestra, maintains an active teaching studio in his home and enjoys playing with TSO Brass Ensemble (“when they’ll have me…”). Mr. Leslie sails on West Bay whenever possible aboard the sloop Tacet II.
