Jacob Olbrot

Violin

Jacob Olbrot is thrilled to be a member of the Traverse Symphony Orchestra, where he has been a core member of the violin section since 2007. Jacob lives in Kalamazoo, where he teaches violin, viola, and chamber music at the Suzuki Academy of Kalamazoo. He also performs as a supplemental player with the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra and South Bend Symphony Orchestra.

Jacob studied Violin Performance at Western Michigan University where he was a member of the Western Michigan Symphony Orchestra, as well as several chamber music groups. In 2006, he was a member of the Fontana Chamber Arts Group’s Quartet in Residence. In the summers of 2003 and 2005, Jacob participated in French music festivals in Montpellier, Nancy, and Bordeaux.

When Jacob is not teaching or playing the violin, he enjoys listening to all sorts of music on his record player, and spending time with his lovely wife Sheri.
