Principal Tuba
Stephen Molnar possesses a Bachelor’s degree from Baldwin-Wallace Conservatory and a Master’s degree from Western Michigan University in music performance.
In addition to serving as the TSO Principal Tubist, Steve regularly performs with the Five Lakes Silver Band, Saginaw Eddy Concert Band and is a founding member of the Quintus Brass Quintet.
Previously, he was the low-brass coach and director of the South Bend Youth Symphony Brass Choir and the tuba instructor at Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp . An avid teacher as well as an adept performer, Mr. Molnar maintains a low brass private teaching studio in the Flint area.
When he’s not playing the tuba, Mr. Molnar is an enthusiastic sportsman, enjoys racquetball, scuba diving and sailing the Great Lakes. Currently he works for Baker College in the Registrar’s Office. Mr. Molnar resides in Davison, Michigan with his wife Hannah and son Stephen.
